Get to know: stoba Small Dole
9,000 square meters of production space, 110 employees, 5,000 parts per day: that’s our stoba site in Small Dole, UK.Founded in 2010 with six employees, the Precision Technology plant is now a strong part of the stoba Group and is primarily active in the automotive industry. High-precision parts for everything from commercial vehicles to agricultural vehicles are manufactured here using turning, milling, ECM technology and washing.
It is no coincidence that stoba set up in the UK around eleven years ago: customer demand for a local manufacturer was high and the founding team at the time had exactly the right expertise to produce the precision parts that were in demand. As at all stoba sites, however, the company in Small Dole is not resting on its laurels, but is clearly looking to the future. For example, stoba Precision Technology in Small Dole is involved in the development of an injection nozzle that enables the combustion of natural gas in diesel engines. In future, the technology is to be further developed so that the same principle can also be used for the combustion of hydrogen – a huge topic in the mobility sector of tomorrow.
Flexible structures and mutual support
Although stoba UK now employs over 100 people, the site is characterized by flat hierarchies with flexible structures: “If something needs to be done, we take it on and everyone helps where they can – even if it affects an area that is not actually their own,” explains Richard Nunn, who manages the business at the Small Dole site together with Matthew Chart. Combined with various training opportunities, this allows employees to have a varied working day in which they can get to know a wide range of areas and develop individually. stoba Small Dole is therefore a real future driver, both technologically and personally!
