stoba is one of Germany’s top training companies
The stoba Group is officially one of the most popular training companies in Germany: Just in time for the upcoming 40th anniversary of the training department, stoba has reached 24th place out of a total of 500 companies in the new training ranking “Most Wanted Start 2026” by DIE ZEIT and the employer platform kununu.
The results are based on the evaluation of over 300,000 employer profiles and more than 5 million ratings from employees and trainees on kununu. For stoba, this is a strong sign, especially in a training market in which many positions remain unfilled nationwide.
stoba CEO Christoph Bode is delighted with the ranking:
“The result shows how much commitment our trainers bring to the table and speaks for the quality of our training programs. At the same time, it shows how well our trainees feel they are in good hands at stoba. Training is a clear strategic decision for us and a central building block for the future of the company. In 2026, we will be celebrating 40 years of training in Backnang, and we are really proud of that.”
Markus Gebhardt, Head of Training in Backnang, also emphasizes the importance of promoting young talent: “It is important to us to prepare young people for their career start in the best possible way. We support them closely and give them everything they need. Our high retention rate and the fact that most former trainees stay with the company speak for themselves.”

Training at stoba
Since 1986, stoba has trained more than 400 young people in technical and commercial professions and has received more than 70 awards from the Chamber of Industry and Commerce. A wide range of technical and commercial apprenticeships are offered at the stoba sites.
