Sporty on the road: stoba at STADTRADELN 2025

5,215 kilometers! That’s how much distance the two stoba teams from Backnang and Weinstadt covered this year in the STADTRADELN competition. Compared to traveling by car, this saved a total of over 800 kilograms of CO2.

Every year, cyclists from all over Germany cycle as many distances as possible over a three-week period. In addition to the exercise, the aim is to avoid CO2 by eliminating car journeys and to reduce noise and traffic jams. The aim is also to draw attention to deficiencies in the cycling infrastructure.

Christoph Bode, stoba CEO and Patrick Gruber, Managing Director of stoba Backnang, also took part. “Cycling is good in so many ways – that’s why I think it’s a great campaign and I’m really impressed by our team’s sporting performance,” says Patrick Gruber.

Christoph Bode adds: “I’m a big fan of cycling anyway – and if you can do something good with it, that’s even better. So I’m already looking forward to the Tour Ginkgo, where we can do just that again next month.”

Every summer, representatives from local companies cycle through the Rems-Murr and Ostalbkreis districts to collect donations for seriously ill children. This year, the donations will go to Bunter Kreis e.V., which supports the socio-medical aftercare of children with cancer and their families. stoba has been a permanent partner for over 10 years and has been the main sponsor of the Tour Ginkgo for several years.
